The team here at ZingChart would like to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. We thought it would be fun to put a little card together using our charting library. While the visualization below looks like a custom animation, it is actually a ZingChart scatterplot.
In order to make this chart, we replaced the data point markers and background with images, then used our modify API method to update the position of the pilgrim and our friend, the turkey. We made the chart scales invisible at the end, but used them during the making of the chart for positioning the turkey. The animation is produced by:
- using a series of "if" statements with incrementing variables to change the direction in which the turkey moves
- using a frame counter variable to time the movements
Please note: No turkeys were harmed during the making of this chart.
